Welcome to The Great Sunflower Project. We are so excited to have you join us in participating in this impactful and important program.

The Great Sunflower Project is a nationwide citizen science project and it is the largest one focused on pollinators with over 100,000 members. Its purpose is to identify where pollinators are doing well and not so well. The program collects pollinator observations, across the country and overlays that information with pesticide usage data to determine the impact of pesticides on pollinators.

At our virtual event on May 9 we discussed what is pollination, who are the pollinators and why pollination is important and important information about the program. Some of the things mentioned are included in this  awesome Website and Resource List including topics:  pollinators, pesticides, fun crafts, movies about bees, native plants and even where to buy them. Instructions for the origami box can be found here, too.

We will be having more events and our next one is scheduled for June 13 @ 2:00 p.m. Be sure to register. Donations are welcome and much appreciated.
