COVID19 Camp Protocols

Bucks County Audubon Society’s mission of connecting people to the natural world is seen in every aspect of our camp programs. So, we are very excited to be able to offer in-person camps for children this summer. As long as Bucks County remains in the Yellow or Green Phase of reopening, we will be allowed to offer camp. Because the health and safety of our staff and campers is our first priority, we will be carefully following the guidelines set by the CDC, state and local health officials. This will mean some changes to our normal camp program, both on the part of our staff and for you and your child/children. Please read the following COVID-19 Camp Policy. Parents will be required to sign this policy, which has requirements for Bucks Audubon and for families, before children will be allowed at camp. If you have any questions, please reach out to Robert for clarification. In order to protect our staff and campers: Bucks Audubon will… · Limit group sizes to no more than 10 children (2 groups max. per week) · Conduct all activities outdoors, weather permitted, indoors with appropriate social distancing during severe weather · Keep groups together for the entire week with the same educators · Implement a disinfecting protocol that includes the cleaning of all tables, chairs, restrooms, door handles, and other often touched surfaces twice each day (before lunch and at the end of day) · Disinfect education supplies after each use, including nets, bug boxes, etc. · Implement arrival and dismissal procedures that take children directly from cars and put them into cars, with no direct contact with parents or siblings in the cars. · Take each educator and child’s temperature on arrival. If they are found to have a temperature (100.4 or above), they may not stay at camp. · Implement a hand washing schedule for staff and campers, including when they arrive, before lunch, after lunch, and mid-afternoon. Hand sanitizers will be used as needed or when soap and water are not available. · Provide individually packaged craft supplies, i.e. crayons, markers, glue stick, scissors, etc. These will be the child’s personal supplies for the week. · Socially distance campers whenever possible, including separation when sitting at tables, during circle time, and when hiking on trails. · Staff will wear masks during programs.
  • By signing this form, you are agreeing to adhere to our new safety protocol and procedures. Failure to abide by these policies will result in your child being removed from summer camp at Bucks Audubon.
